For teams

The same conversation, for the people who sit at your desks.

What thirty thousand hours of desk work does to a body over a career, and what a team can actually do about it in the week it actually has.

01What this is

I speak at conferences about the research on sedentary work, movement and recovery, and what it means for people who write software for a living. Bringing it to a team is the same material, grounded in your context: what your people recognised in it, and which of it is worth acting on where they work.

The evidence base is the University of Leicester's SMART Work & Life trial — a workplace intervention tested in a randomised trial rather than a programme sold on enthusiasm — read alongside what I learned rebuilding my own mobility after an MRI at 28 showed a decade of spinal degeneration.

02What this is not

Not a standing-desk procurement pitch. Not a step-count competition. Not medical advice, and not a substitute for a clinician. No claim that anything here reverses what has already accumulated.

03How it starts

One conversation. Tell me what your team recognised in the talk, or what you are seeing — pain that keeps people off work, people who have stopped moving entirely, a team that sits eleven hours a day — and I will tell you honestly whether I can help and what that would look like.

A conversation, not a mailing list. Your address is used to reply to this enquiry and nothing else.
