Who we are

State of Health is run by Zero to MVP PC, Agion Apostolon Petrou & Pavlou 46, Spata 19004, Greece. We decide what happens to the personal data collected on this site. For anything about it, email hello@stateofhealth.tech.

What you give us

Every form here is optional. If you leave one out, the only cost is that we can’t do what it was for.

• Newsletter: your name and email, and optionally your company, plus the talk or conference you came from. We use them to send the newsletter, including a welcome email, and to number founding members. If you unsubscribe, we keep the date and any reason you chose. When you subscribe from a live room or an email, we also keep the question you said yes to, its version and when you said it, as proof of your consent. Basis: your consent. You can withdraw it with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• Exercises by email: your email, the talk you came from and the time, so we can send you the exercises you asked for. Asking for them does not subscribe you to anything. We ask about the newsletter separately afterwards, and only a yes subscribes you. Basis: doing what you asked us to.
• Live talk rooms: joining a talk’s live room stores the nickname you pick and, if you give one, your email, with the time and the version of this page. Taking part stores your poll votes, the questions you ask and the five SLA lines you write. Your nickname is shown on stage if you win the raffle. Your questions reach the speaker with it, and other attendees see them without it. A question the speaker picks is shown on the screen in the room and on every attendee’s phone, without your nickname, so please keep personal details out of your questions. Your SLA is never shown on stage or sent to analytics. Your email is used only for that talk: to count you once in the raffle, to reach you if you win and, when your SLA is complete, to send it to you as a PDF, once, five minutes later. It subscribes you to the newsletter only if you say yes to that separately. Your browser keeps a random session id, and any answer not yet saved, so the page remembers you. Basis: running the live room you joined.
• Talk feedback: your rating, comment and any question you send, with the talk it’s about. If you give feedback after signing up, it’s linked to your email. We use it to improve the talks and to answer your question. Basis: our legitimate interest in improving the talks.
• Direct questions: your email, your question and the talk you came from, so we can confirm it arrived and reply. Sending one does not subscribe you to anything. Basis: doing what you asked us to.
• Team enquiries: your email and the talk you came from, so we can confirm it arrived and reply. Sending one does not subscribe you to anything. Basis: doing what you asked us to.

What we measure

When you first visit, a bar at the foot of the page asks whether we may measure how the site is used. Saying no changes nothing about what the site does.

• Only if you say yes: PostHog (EU hosting) records which pages you visit and which forms you use, never what you type in them. It may also record a session with every piece of text and every input masked. When you subscribe to the newsletter, PostHog links your activity here to your email address. Sentry may keep a replay of a session, masked the same way, to help us fix an error. Two cookies, conference_ref and talk_ref, remember for 30 days which talk you arrived from, so a later signup is credited to it. PostHog keeps its own identifier in your browser. Basis: your consent.
• Always: Vercel Analytics counts page views without cookies or anything that identifies you. Sentry records errors, with the page and browser they happened in and without your IP address. Our servers log warnings and errors, without email addresses. Vercel, which hosts the site, logs requests, including IP addresses, for a short period. Basis: our legitimate interest in running a site that works and is secure.
• In your browser: your answer to the analytics question, and in a live room the session id and unsaved answers described above. Nothing here uses advertising cookies.

Who else handles it

We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising. These services process it for us:

• Hetzner (Germany) runs our servers, which hold the database and logs.
• Vercel hosts the site, renders our emails and provides Vercel Analytics.
• PostHog (EU hosting) provides analytics, if you say yes.
• Sentry (EU data region) collects error reports and replays.
• SMTP2GO delivers our emails.
• Migadu (Switzerland) hosts our mailbox, where your questions and enquiries arrive.

Vercel is based in the US and SMTP2GO in New Zealand, and either may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on a European Commission adequacy decision or on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses in the provider’s data processing terms. The site’s fonts are served from this site, so no page here makes a request to Google.

How long we keep it

We delete what has passed its period at least every three months.

Your rights

You can ask to access what we hold about you, and to correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or have it sent to you in a portable format. You can object to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent at any time, which doesn’t affect what happened before. Email hello@stateofhealth.tech; we reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or the authority where you live.

We make no automated decisions about you. The live-room raffle picks its winner at random.

Changes

When this policy changes, the version and date at the top change with it. A live room records which version you were shown when you joined.
