Privacy
We’re still finalising our full privacy policy. Until it’s published, this page summarises what we collect and why. If you have a question, or want to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@stateofhealth.tech.
What you give us
- Newsletter signup: your name and email, and optionally your company, plus the talk or conference you came from. We use them to send the newsletter, including a welcome email, and to number founding members. If you unsubscribe, we keep the date and any reason you chose.
- Talk feedback: your rating, comment and any question you send, with the talk it’s about. If you give feedback after signing up, it’s linked to your email.
- Live talk rooms: joining a talk’s live room stores the nickname you pick and, if you give one, your email, with the time and the version of this page. Taking part stores your poll votes, the questions you ask and the five SLA lines you write. Your nickname is shown on stage if you win the raffle; your questions reach the speaker with it, and other attendees see them without it. Your SLA is never shown on stage or sent to analytics. Your email is used only for that talk: to count you once in the raffle, to reach you if you win and, when your SLA is complete, to send it to you as a PDF, once, five minutes later. It subscribes you to the newsletter only if you say yes to that separately. Your browser keeps a random session id so the page remembers you.
- Team enquiries: your email and the talk you came from, so we can reply.
- Direct questions: your email, question and the talk you came from, so we can confirm it arrived and reply. Sending one does not subscribe you to anything.
- Workshop registration: your name, email and phone number, to manage your place.
What we measure
- Analytics: we use PostHog (EU hosting) and Vercel Analytics to see which pages are visited and which forms are used. PostHog may record sessions on this site. When you sign up, PostHog links your activity here to your email address.
- Error monitoring: we use Sentry to find and fix errors. An error report can include what was on the page at the time, including text you had typed.
- Cookies: when you arrive from a talk page, two cookies (
conference_refandtalk_ref) remember which talk it was for 30 days, so a later signup is credited to it. PostHog stores its own identifier in your browser.
Who else handles it
We don’t sell your data. These services process it for us: Vercel, which hosts the site; PostHog, Vercel Analytics and Sentry, as described above; and SMTP2GO, which delivers our emails. Our own servers store form submissions. The site’s fonts are served from this site, so no page here makes a request to Google.
